Boys and Girls Club of the Peninsula

Started in 1958, the Boys and Girls Club of the Peninsula is an organization whose mission is to provide the low-income youth of our community with the opportunities they need to achieve school success. Focused on low income neighborhoods, the Boys and Girls Club provides supplemental educational services through mentorship and tutoring. 90% Boys and Girls Club students graduate from high school with a secondary education plan.

YearUp

Founded by Gerald Chertavian, YearUp was created to give young adults a fair chance at achieving success. Chertavian saw first hand as a Big Brother volunteer that young people could accomplish anything when given challenging standards and the support to meet them. Focusing on young adults age 18-24 without a college degree, YearUp provides 6 months of education combined with a 6 month internship, YearUp has changed the lives of tens of thousands of people. Today YearUp has served more than 30k students through 35 campus’s around the country.
